NEWS UP DATE
We have teamed up with Oxfordshires newest music magaizine 'Oxfordshire Music Scene who will be helping us with publicity in and around Oxford. The current issue of this new quarterly magazine can be found in most Oxfordshires music venues and locally in Budgens, Saddlers coffee shop and Sandwich Phillers in Faringdon - and it's FREE.
A particular catch for this years BFG 'Not My Day' are featured in a two page spread in this all colour new magazine. I think we can firmly say they will be band to keep an eye on especially with two of their songs being fetured in the new Philip Pullman Film 'The Butterfly Tattoo' which will be premiered in Cannes this May.....unfortunatley the band dont get to be part of the party...maybe for the next film lads. I saw the band play at the Jericho Tavern in Oxford recently and believe me they will knock your socks off.
BFG ON TOUR
As part of the work to promote this years BFG we will be have two promotional gigs at the Port Mahon St Clemments Oxford featuring BFG bands. So if you want to get a sample of the BFG then come along to the following gigs.

Or you could take a risk and try and buy on the day.
=============================
THE BFG
Here you will find details of a unique new music event for the area, unique in that all the bands that play will only play original music - no covers whatsoever. 15 bands have now been booked - many of which will be new to Faringdon - not bad for £10.
The event will form part of the annual Faringdon Arts Festival the main part of which will be the following weekend (11th-13th July) - a link to their website will follow. All profits from the ticket sales and the bar will be split equally to support the Arts Festival and Helen & Douglas House Hospice in Oxford. As this is a fund raising event all the bands playing and all those organising & working at the event will be giving their time for free.
The opportunity of playing at a festival where all acts will only play original music seems to have struck a chord with many bands. The level of interest has spread far and wide and we now have 14 confirmed acts from Oxford, Reading, Swindon and Faringdon playing on the 5th July. For details of who's playing, together with myspace links to listen to the bands, please see 'Who's on 2008' I think you will be truely amazed at the depth of variety and quality of originality available on the day.
We are still looking for volunteers to help out on the day - please see 'Want to help?' page. There will also be opportunities for local organisations/individuals to make a few pounds by applying for stall space - teas/coffee, food crafts etc.
The doors will open at 11.15am and it is planned to have the first band on at 12 noon. There will be music all day as the timings between the two rooms (the main hall and the dining room) will be staggered.
We look forward to hearing from you and seeing you in the summer.
Thankyou
Sean and Amanda
